I always thought that most Americans didn’t like Socialism. This year the Democrat Candidates seem to think we do. They want to fix it all, including the borders. That would be great if they knew what they were doing. The fact that they are still trying to push amnesty and drivers licenses for illegal residents is about all anyone should need. They seem to forget they want to work for us.
Whatever happened to small government, personal freedoms, low taxes and everything else the Republican Party used to stand for? Somehow I just don’t think Rudy is our man. And Ron Paul, we all love you man. Moving their candidate into the Republican race was the smartest move the Libertarians have made in my lifetime. Most of your views are right on. But, until you are ready to deal with
The American political system is beginning to fail us. As Americans, we are duty bound to try to fix it. Problem is, everyone has a different priority. Looking at all of the US Political Parties on Wikipedia, one would think we are a Nation of single issue voters. Single issue voting, among other things, has led to a Congress that couldn’t care less what the average American thinks.
Might I suggest a Coalition? It could be a third party, or maybe just a very loud voice. Surely we can all find issues that we can agree on. A little give and take could work wonders if all sides are willing. Of course, tackling the issues one at a time to build a consensus will be the hard thing. But it will be harder later on.
Things that I am afraid of:
1. The day oil reaches $500 a barrel
2. The day Republicans get control of everything
3. The day that Al Gore becomes World President
4. Osama’s “perfect day”
5. The IRS and our (In need of a new) tax system
6. MexAmeriCanada
7. Rudy
8. Hillary
9. Iranian Cuisine
10. The American Media
I would ask that some of you out there help decide the most important issues. From there we can work toward common ground. Please post your list of the issues most important to you.

Interesting comments. I think the immigration issue is kind of a scam, a non-issue designed by the Repubs to get people worked up and vote for them. If we get rid of the illegals, plan on paying twice as much for the dinner on your table, because I challenge you to go to any farmer’s field in America and find a white guy out there picking lettuce or hoeing beets. Rich people will have to pay more than minimum wage to get someone to cut their hedges, mow their lawns and take care of their babies when mommy drives her Mercedes to the salon to get a manicure. First the Rip-offs (I mean the Republicans) manipulate the public’s fear of terrorists and tell us a pack of lies to get us into a pointless war in Iraq, then slowly take away our civil and contstitutional rights so that Georgie’s rich friends can rip off government funds by no-bid (non competitive) contracts and “cost overruns”. For their deception, and just plain lies, Halliburton has already paid millions of dollars in fines for fraudulent and inflated charges for support services in the Irag war, to give one example. Then these same companies go to New Orleans and rip off the taxpayers again by over- charging for rebuilding the infrastructure there. They are not content with just ripping off taxpayers, because many contractors also didn’t pay the workers who actually did the dirty work of rebuilding the city, nevermind that the half the city is still a miserable wreck and will stay that way until the Repubs finish driving away the blacks and other homeowners there. As a lifelong liberal and Democrat, I don’t see much hope on the horizon. Hillary is a warhawk and a devious, underhanded campaigner, and she lack’s her husband’s ability to talk out of both sides of his mouth and fool people into thinking that he helped them. This guy could sell ice to Eskimos for a dollar a pound and make them think they got a great deal. Hillary does not have this talent. She has good bullshit, it’s just not the same quality of bullshit that her husband gave us for eight years. On the other hand, Bill left us with a surplus of money in the nation’s bank account, while Georgie has spent money we don’t really have like a drunken sailor on a war we will never win. This criminal, without a doubt the dumbest and most evil president we have ever had, is going to leave us with a national debt in the trillions of dollars, but hey, they do everything big in Texas, so yee-hah! let’s have a barbeque and talk about how folksy our Prez is. I frequently wonder just how dumb Republicans are, I wonder if they will ever understand just how much damage this guy has done to our country. Meanwhile all of the candidates on both sides are trying to ignore the elephant in the living room, and that elephant is this: this country is broke, and we owe our soul not to the company store, but to China, Japan, and the rest of Asia. Anyway, here’s a rundown of the candidates and why they all suck. I’ll start with the Repubs, because I hate them more, and they had a strangle hold on our country the first 6 years of Georgie’s dictatorship- er, I mean “presidency”:
McCain: No chicken hawk like Georgie’s crew, he’s a genuine warhawk, and that’s why I won’t vote for him.
Romney: Richie Rich decides to try to buy the presidency. I don’t care that he’s a Mormon, but what has he actually accomplished?
Huckabee: Jed Clampett wants to be president. This guy is probably dumber than Georgie, he would be a real disaster.
Fred Thompson: I know, he already dropped out, but this constipated-looking windbag had an ego attack, and was apparently waiting for the public to beg him to run. Don’t let the door hit you in the ass on the way out, Fred!
Obama: This guy is looking more and more like the Democratic nominee, but he seems to have more charisma than practical experience, and he won’t get the crossover, moderate Republican vote he will need to win the presidency, assuming that there are any moderate Republicans left in this country.
Edwards: I’m surprised his campaign hasn’t had more traction, but he reportedly has a pregnant girlfriend stashed away in suburban Washington D.C., and if he somehow becomes the nominee, you can bet the Republicans will get this in the news a month before the election, and the Dems will go down in defeat. The Republicans are probably praying to Rush Limbaugh (I mean God) that Edwards will get the nomination.
Hillary: See above.
So who will I vote for? None of the above. I am going to vote for George McGovern even though he’s not running, because he’s the only Democrat willing to tell us that George Bush should be impeached!
Oh yeah. What am I afraid of? A McCain presidency, because he will probably be our next president and we will be battling it out in Iran for the next ten years, and the gutless weasels in the Democratic party won’t do anything about it!
What else am I afraid of? Being required to speak Chinese and wear a Mao hat in about 10 years when the Chinese finish their economic takeover of our wonderful country.
